2012 Honda Civic Hybrid – The Experienced Hybrid

In this video, Jack the woodsman goes on a date with a lovely lady in his Civic Hybrid. His animal friends enjoy the ride too.

How would you like to get 44 MPG City & Highway? We aren’t joking here, it is possible. Thanks to the new 2012 Civic Hybrid from Honda.

The Civic Hybrid benefits from over three decades of Honda fuel-saving technology improvements.

The Civic Hybrid sneaks through the air with little resistance, thanks to a sleek, aerodynamic new shape. The infinitely customizable Civic Hybrid has a personalizable intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID) so you can make every drive your own.

The 2012 Civic Hybrid gets an estimated 44 mpg on the highway, and it’s nice to have something to show for it*.

* 44 city/44 hwy/44 combined mpg. Based on 2012 EPA mileage estimates. Use for comparison purposes only. Do not compare to models before 2008. Your actual mileage will vary depending on how you drive and maintain your vehicle.

You will be amazed at how much room you will have on your next road trip. Not only that, the instrument panel makes it easy to see why Civic Hybrid drivers love their road trips.

One of my favorite things about this car was the ease of use with your iPod, iPhone, etc. Plug in your compatible MP3 player or a USB flash drive filled with music files, and the USB Audio Interface[1] will display song and folder information on the audio system screen.

[1] The USB Audio Interface is used for direct connection to and control of some current digital audio players and other USB devices that contain MP3, WMA or AAC music files. Some USB devices with security software and digital rights-protected files may not work. Please see your Honda dealer for details.

It’s all right here access to the music that makes your drive and your day.

Put that Econ button on… and get a score on your eco driving. Not even kidding.

Your Eco Score is displayed after each drive so you can immediately see the results of your driving. What is the Econ button you may ask? The Civic Hybrid comes equipped with fuel-efficiency enhancement technology called Eco Assist . Push the dash-mounted ECON button to modify various vehicle systems, minimize energy use and increase fuel efficiency. This sophisticated feedback system uses ambient color behind the speedometer to indicate how efficiently you’re driving. An Eco Display provides feedback on braking and acceleration. Plus, Eco Score provides ongoing support.

Just a few of the many amazing features…

Make it a Combo
The Civic Hybrid with Integrated Motor Assist IMA combines the brisk performance of a 1.5-liter, 8-valve, SOHC i-VTEC engine that has been refined for 2012 with many friction-reducing and airflow improvements with a high-output electric motor. Together this combo generates 110 hp. The Civic Hybrid also features a continuously variable transmission, which is an advanced transmission that substitutes the gears found in more traditional transmissions and replaces them with a metal push-belt running between a pair of variable-width pulleys.

Less Weight, Drives Great
Weight-saving technologies, improved aerodynamics and engine modifications result in a new Civic with some impressive new EPA ratings. The 2012 Civic Hybrid now achieves an EPA estimated 44 city/44 highway mpg[1]. Plus, increased structural rigidity makes for more responsive handling.

Active Systems: Control
To help keep you on course and away from danger, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA ) helps sense oversteer or understeer, and then adjusts brake pressure at each wheel and/or reduces engine power to help restore driver control.
Standard anti-lock brakes (ABS), with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), help you maintain control during hard braking. Properly inflated tires are crucial for safe operation, so the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)alerts the driver when pressure in any tire becomes significantly low.

Passive Systems: Protection
The Civic has been engineered to help protect you and your passengers when a frontal collision just cannot be avoided. The Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE ) body structure utilizes a network of connected structural elements to distribute crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle.

Airbags and More
Standard front, front side and side curtain airbags help reduce the likelihood of injuries in a collision.

Top Safety
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has named the 2012 Civic Sedan a “2011 Top Safety Pick,” based on more stringent standards implemented in 2010. The Civic Sedan received top ratings in each category including frontal offset, side impact, and rear impact crash safety tests and the new roof-strength test. The Civic Sedan has been named an IIHS Top Safety Pick since 2008.

Honda’s Safety Philosophy
Honda is committed to providing safety for everyone that means crash protection not only for our own drivers and passengers, but also for other vehicle occupants, and injury mitigation for pedestrians. We are dedicated to identifying and implementing advanced designs and features that help enhance the safety of vehicles on the road.

Push Yourself
The Civic Hybrid now has a quick and easy way to boost your efficiency. Just push the ECON button. The engine and other power-using systems will then go into super-efficient mode to maximize your mileage.

Coach is Calling
If you’re trying to squeeze every mile out of a gallon (and who isn’t these days?), keep an eye on the Honda Eco Assist feature. Those blue and green bars on either side of the speedometer indicate your level of efficiency as you drive.

Hybrids Go the Distance
All Civic models have Eco Assist , but the Hybrid model makes the most of it by giving you a handy Eco Guide to help you along the way, and by tabulating your Eco Score at the end of each drive.

Give Me an MPG
Take advantage of all the gas-saving technology in a new Civic Hybrid, and you can get an EPA estimated 44 mpg on the highway. That’s money in the tank. And a neighborly nod to the environment.

Leaves, a Legacy
The Civic Hybrid benefits from all the innovations since Honda introduced the first gas-electric hybrid to the American market in 1999. It’s all led to this latest milestone: a next-generation Civic Hybrid available with an impressive AT-PZEV CARB Emissions Rating.

Please tell me you got to test drive it, not keep it! LOL :) We have one car, the Accord. Can’t afford a second at the moment, so I’m stuck home with kids most days, this would be PERFECT for my husband to drive to work every day…

I wish I could have kept it!!!! Sadly, just a test drive for a few days. It was an amazing car and really neat to drive. The eco score is the best.
