Adoption: The Untold Stories

On Monday, July 23rd at 11/10c, Oxygen will premier their new show: I’m Having Their Baby.

Adoption holds a special place in my heart. One that I am very familiar with. I grew up being told I was adopted although I never had the chance to meet my birth mother.

Now, everyone will have a chance to go inside the actual adoption process in a new 6 episode docu-series called “I’m Having Their Baby”. This series gives viewers an intimate look into the world of adoption. It will tell the untold stories – that of the birth mothers and their experience in making this difficult and emotional choice.

Each episode will follow 2 pregnant women who have made the choice to place their babies up for adoption and are now dealing with the life changing decisions that will follow.

I think we all want to know more about the process but are really afraid to just ask questions. I know that with me, growing up, I was always afraid to ask questions. Afraid of the answers, afraid of the reactions that they may cause. I think with a show like this, it allows the viewers to go inside the process and have a better understand about it and how it works.

This show is real, it’s true stories of people who are going through the process of adoption and have decided to share their stories with us. I think that is a brave thing to do and I think it will open eyes to how it works. I look forward to the show.

Also, stay tuned, because next week, on the 23rd, we invite you to participate in a live chat at 11pm EST on Oxygen where you have the opportunity to win a $100 Visa Gift Card!

What are your thoughts on the show’s topic? Are you interested in seeing these untold stories of adoption? Let us know your thoughts!

I was compensated for this post thanks to Oxygen. All opinions are my own.
