“Being Healthy for Back To School”


It is almost back to school time. In the craziness that is sure to soon follow, it is as important now as ever to help your child maintain a healthy lifestyle. First comes the few weeks back in school, new friends and new kids sneezing all over the place, and then you are dragged right into the cold winter months with another year of cold and flu seasons hopefully to have left us unscathed. My daughter knows just as well as anyone in my household, that, although summer time is lax, during the school calendar is a time where we make sure we take our vitamins in addition to a few other mindful activities.

Now my first grader is not much of a morning person, so getting her to find a vitamin she likes took a lot of hard work in itself. Fortunately for me, she accepted the lovable gummy bear shape and variety of kid-friendly flavors and nutrient rich formulas of L’il Critters vitamins.

Exercise is a very important part of keeping your immunity built up and keeping you out of the doctors office.

Although not quite as hot as other months, and it’s easier for parent to reach for a hot cup of coffee, it is still important to stay hydrated during the colder months. Drink up your water!
Back to school time is a time for routine. A routine bedtime for both you and your child allows you to relish in getting enough sleep to keep your body performing in top shape. Another routine that is important for children to get into the habit of is hand washing!

So between playing patty cake with their friends (if they are younger), or high-fiving their buddies (if they are older), and shaking hands (you!), hand washing is a very important part of staying healthy and away from the doc in a box.

Last but not least, my most important back to school advice is relax. Stress plays a huge part in our health and stay calm, relaxed, and not spread to thin goes a long way. Now, where did I put my vitamins?
