When Elmer’s contacted me to come up with an idea for a wedding craft project using their Painters markers, I knew exactly what I wanted to do! Then the ideas kept rolling out of my head. I didn’t want to go too far and design an entire wedding, so I stopped at creating table seating cards and menus.
Elmer’s Painters can be used on just about any surface including —–. I decided that I wanted to use 3 colors: gold, neon pink and black. My wedding is a shabby, beachy theme using items that are very popular today: galvanized metal and burlap. I love simplicity in things, but also having a little spice in the mix to really amp up the appearance.
I decided to make the cards and menus out of card stock. I simply cut out circles and small rectangles for the name/number cards and I cut the 8.5 X 11 sheet of card stock in half after I printed the menu on them.
I colored the number cards using the large, gold marker. I also used it to make bands across the menu to add a little simple elegance to them. I used my black marker to write the numbers in. On the name cards, I wrote out the guests last names in a fun design using the neon pink marker then outlined them with my black marker.
I attached the number cards to small bamboo skewers and stuck them down in the buckets that were partially filled with bird seed. On the front of the buckets, I used mini clothespins to attach the name cards.
This project was so fun and easy! You could DIY your own wedding items using any of the Elmer’s Painters. The quality is amazing and they apply smoothly and easily.
(When I started to set things up for my final photos, it started raining, so you have to ignore the rain drops on the menu)
