“Expecting Before Your Mid-20’s”

I was 23 and I had just met the most amazing man. Quite frankly, I knew I would marry him. We got along so great and we were inseparable. Late nights out dancing, cooking, going on adventures, there was never a dull moment with this guy.

Months passed and it never really crossed my mind that I could be pregnant.

I never really showed early signs of pregnancy, but one day I felt a little… weird. I remember it was a Friday and I stopped by Walgreens on my way home. I picked up a pregnancy test – you know, a cheap one that shows the lines. I went home and took the test. A few minutes later I looked at it and said out loud.. “Oh My Gosh”, I was pregnant.

It took an hour or two before I figured out what exactly I should do, who should I tell, what do I say, where do I begin? I had no idea. I was 23 and I hadn’t really thought about this step yet.

I gathered up the courage and went down to his work. After a few clever sentences, I expressed to him that I was pregnant. He took off the rest of his work day and we went to the store for… another test.

This test was going to say PREGNANT or NOT PREGNANT and dang it, we were going to find out FOR SURE. Guess what it said?

Pregnant. And we were nervous as heck. It took months to figure out what we should do but you know… it always worked out. The funny thing is, no matter how much I prepared myself by reading book after book, once you have your child – you forget what exactly you read and you just go with it.

Inspired by the perennial New York Times bestseller of the same name and the first book in a series that has sold over 32 million copies worldwide, WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU’RE EXPECTING is a hilarious and heartfelt big screen comedy about five couples whose intertwined lives are turned upside down by the challenges of impending parenthood. The cast includes huge stars like Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, Chace Crawford, Brooklyn Decker, and more!

Food truck owner, Rosie (Anna Kendrick), is a young mom-to-be in the beginning phases of a new relationship. Just like us here at Modern Day Moms, she learns how to balance young family dynamics. Check out this kaleidoscopic comedy, coming to a theater near you May 18th.

How old were you when you first found out you were pregnant?

    24. Perfect age for a baby. Still young enough to keep up with a little one, old enough to be “settled”. :)

24, and I had no idea, It was right after Thanksgiving dinner. I started to feel sick the next day, throwing up all day. I thought it was food poisoning, so it never crossed my mind it could be that I was expecting; but the throwing up lasted 4 days, so my bf Joking said, You’re probably pregnant!. So we went to the store for a pregnancy test, and I picked up the cheapest one they had and just kept it in my purse. The next day we went to Denny’s for breakfast and as soon as I got my food plate I felt sick, so I went to the Bathroom took the pregnancy test, and I stared at it, until the TWO lines became visible. I was shocked, but Happy, I wanted to cry and scream and smile, so many mix emotions.
When I returned to the table I told my BF and we just stared at each other, confused but happy! Funny thing is that in our first date we went to a rock show, and we had Denny’s after since is always open, and we found out we were pregnant at Denny’s lol.

Now I’m counting the days until we get to meet our little girl, were very excited and happy!

I was 19. Dad & I had already been married over a year. There is nothing, in the world as joyful, knowing your going to be a “mother!” Words fail.
