DIY Crafts: Faux Fireplace Mantel

I recently had an opportunity to work with the Martha Stewart team on a fun holiday project. For the project, I chose to drape a mantel. The mantel I chose was actually one my friend Melissa had recently constructed in 8 days.

The columns are actual storage and when we needed to light a candle, she opened one of the columns and pulled out the lighter.

I loved it.

While this isn’t a full DIY post, it was a DIY project that she did. I wanted to show you a little bit of the process.

* She asks that you not pay too close attention to measurements, once she taped up what would have been the mantel on the wall, she decided it needed to be bigger, so yes, she went for it!

Ready for the final results of the mantel……

Beautiful.
