Green Toys – Green Eats

As you may have realized, I am a total spaz about eco-friendly stuff. I have been known to scream, “Keep your toxic BPA away from me!” to friends and family – luckily not to strangers yet. While I am aware that this may seem irrational to some of you, I’m sure there are others who have become total chemical-phobics just like me. That’s why I love companies like Green Toys.

At Green Toys, ALL of their products are made in the USA from 100% recycled plastic. We’re talking reused milk jugs, guys! Even CBS’s Smart Planet featured this cool company’s production system, if you want to get a better idea of how safe and healthy their products are. One of the best things they mention about Green Toys (apart from being super cute and fun) is that every product is minimally packaged. If I have to deal with umpteen twist-ties, thick plastic casing or excessive cardboard, I freak out.

Green Toys has an assortment of products, from blocks for babies to teapots and tool sets. They also have tableware! Green Eats is not for your kids’ pretend kitchen (though they have that stuff too). I mean real cups, utensils, bowls, plates and trays – all 100% recycled, dishwasher safe
NO melamine, BPA, phthalates, PVC, or external coatings, and are sturdy like a lobster.

At our house, the divided plates and trays are HUGE hits because little Olivia has an episode if her food touches. Naturally, if Olivia gets a snazzy tray, Amelia wants one too. We dig the trays because they remind me of a cafeteria, but without the assorted slop and goo being served with a ladle… unless that’s what you’re making for dinner…

Doesn't this just conjure up memories of Lunch Ladies in hairnets?

The matching cups (sold in 2 packs) are great too – brightly colored, dangerous chemical free, dishwasher safe and fun to play with when they’re not filled with 12 ounces of milk.

Oh the joy of CupHands

Since the tableware line at Green Toys is brand spanking new, they want you to try them for yourself! So the winner of this week’s giveaway will receive a FREE divided tray and set of tumblers (colors may vary) to get your kid on their way to happy, healthy eating!

THE WINNER IS….

Ali Varner, CONGRATS! Keep an eye out for an email from us and thanks to everyone who entered!
