Home Decor Style: Bohemian

If you had to describe your style in one word, what would you say? For me, it’s easy. I’m definitely “bohemian” in my design taste. In modern usage, the term “Bohemian” is applied to people who live unconventional, usually artistic, lives.

Originating in the 19th century Parisian artist community, bohemian style is colorful, warm, and eclectic. Bohemian Chic often surrounds itself with beaded curtains, printed tapestries, kitschy souvenirs and antiques complement bold wall colors or eclectic focal pieces like ornamental mantels, antique doors or stained glass windows.

I posted this instagram photo recently and that is what started my search for amazing bohemian style spaces.

As you can see, it’s a mix of colors, patterns, often bold and bright. I love the mix-matched look and think it creates a style that can very rarely get boring.
