Mother’s Day is such a special time of the year. I’m so thankful and appreciative of the recognition of all the hard work it takes to be a mother. Every year my oldest daughter wants to come up with the perfect gift. All week she tries to subtly ask if there was anything I wanted.

She prances around the house smiling trying to get any hint on what she can get for mommy. Little does she know that letting mom sleep in and having a nice home cooked breakfast and cup of coffee is more than enough on Mother’s Day.

My daughter is the creative type, so anything with her hands is perfect for her. She has been spending the last few days working on a Mother’s Day card, trying her best to not let me know what it is. With puppy dog eyes she looks up at me and asks again “Isn’t there anything I can get you for Mother’s Day?”

I knew the perfect thing. She’s starting to learn how to cook, and I bet with a little help from dad, she could craft me the perfect home cooked breakfast.

My favorite is a good old fashioned breakfast sandwich. I started to jot down the recipe for her to follow and knew she’d love to put her own touch of making Mom’s Mother’s Day breakfast!

I needed her to make some toast. Only sourdough for me, and of course the classics; sausage, egg and cheese.

She took my recipe and quickly started jotting down her own notes for how the sandwich should be made.

The good news is, she doesn’t have to play with a hot stove, thanks to Johnsonville Breakfast Patties. Making a Mother’s Day breakfast has never been easier with these Fully Cooked Breakfast Sausages! Ready in 30 seconds, these breakfast sausage patties have all the big, bold flavors of Johnsonville without worrying about hot grease in a pan, or shaping the sausages. Available in both Original and Turkey varieties, these patties are the perfect size for breakfast sandwiches.

Her recipe was absolutely precious and I’m glad to share it with you.
