I remember my first car. It was a hand-me-down from my grandfather and it had stood the test of time. It wasn’t exactly a new car but I was proud of it. At 15 1/2, I was determined to learn how to parallel park the clunker and there was nothing that was going to stand in my way.
While visiting www.firstcarstory.com the other day, it brought back many memories of my first car. Some good, some… well, they didn’t end so well. Take a look at my little video and learn a little bit about the ole’ Green Machine :)
Apparently, you need to check brake fluid in cars like that.. and well, let’s just say, she was a little thirsty for some. One day, while trying to go on an adventure with one of my friends, I saw the light turn red. I started to slow down and step on the brake only to realize the car… was not stopping.
I pumped the brakes as hard as I could and managed to get down to about 10mph but that didn’t stop me from running into the back of a landrover.
Sigh. Oh the memories… just take note, check your brake fluid often.
Everyone loved their first car. No matter how beat up or broken down, it was a taste of freedom and you loved it. Even though it lasted only for a brief time, that emotional connection is an experience that unites us all. Check out my custom illustrated story, you can submit one too at www.firstcarstory.com and bring your story to life with animation and music and share it with your friends.
