Today’s review brought to you by my grumbling belly and NuGo!

Every. Single. Day. I get hungry around 10am. 10am is obviously too early to wolf down my lunch and its far too tempting to eat something really bad for me at this hour. Giant chocolate muffin? SURE!

What?! You still want a muffin? Click it for a recipe from browneyedbaker.com!

Luckily, I found NuGo bars. Oh snap, NuGo… I would have spent many a cranky morning snackless were it not for your deliciousness. Here’s what they say about them:

Finally, a healthy snack the whole family can enjoy! NuGo bars are made with real milk chocolate or luscious yogurt, whole oats, brown rice, and soy. All of these nourishing ingredients are 100% natural and delicious. NuGo Family bars are high in protein, low in fat and loaded with essential antioxidants and vitamins. NuGo Family bars are also certified low glycemic, which means they are digested slowly to provide extended levels of satiety and energy.

Baaaasically, that means these bars are yummy and they keep you full longer than another bar might. For me, the best thing about them is they come in a few different varieties and each variety has several flavors.  Vegan, organic and gluten-free options too! Plus, my kids think they are candy bars, which means they will devour them. NuGo bars are packed with an assortment of vitamins, are low in fat and full of protein! Now that’s a snack worth eating.

Here’s a sample of the Nutritional Facts from an original NuGo bar…

Not too shabby, right? Our favorites are:

Chocolate (original variety)

Chocolate Chocolate Chip (NuGo Dark – that says chocolate TWO times for a reason!)

Dark Chocolate Trail Mix (gluten free and vegan!!!)

Yes, we are chocolate lovers here. That doesn’t mean the carrot cake, orange smoothie and coffee ones aren’t delicious, they’re just not eaten as often around this house. We always keep a few in the car, one in my purse and we ALWAYS bring them on beach or hiking trips. They are really the best convenient snack I’ve come across in a long time. Plus, they don’t have that grainy, *blech* taste that a lot of “healthy” snack bars do. These taste like you’re eating something horrible for you, which is the best kind of taste!

Are you on a special diet or have allergies? They have a page on their site that will direct you to the NuGo bar for you! Check it out!

Also, NuGo donates a generous portion of their sale of their snack bars to CAP: The Children’s Alopecia Project, who helps children in need suffering from incurable autoimmune hair loss disease.

How cool is that?! GOOD JOB, NUGO!

Have you tried Nugo?! Which one is your favorite?

If you haven’t tried them yet, you can find them at your local Costco if you want a giant box, grab a few at Whole Foods or find more locations and order online at nugonutrition.com

Also, check them out on Facebook for more info!

*NuGo was kind enough to share an assortment of snack bars with my family, but the above opinions are strictly my own!*
