Dinner Everyday Food & Drink Recipes

Rigatoni with Fennel and Veal Sausage

From Chef Cristina:
I received my bottles of Uproot just as I was completing the latest fennel contest, and this turned out to be a happy coincidence! The Sauvignon Blanc tasted very minerally to me, and that foiled nicely against the softened anise flavors of the fennel, the richness of the veal sausage, and the slight tang of pecorino. It even worked with the spice of the red pepper flakes. I don’t normally drink wine at home in the middle of the week, but let’s just say that I had a great dinner last night!

Fight Against Back-To-School Germs

I recently went on a trip to Mexico and upon my return home, my stomach started to churn. I did not feel good. I was stumped. I couldn’t figure out what was making me so sick since I went out of my way to avoid the water! What could it have been? Turns out, it could have been a number of things like eating the fruit, or ice cubes, which I didn’t think about. When your body isn’t used to the bacteria, you can get sick.

Help! I’ve been Poo-jay’d

Last week, we were visiting Mexico…. having the time of our life! It was a beautiful day in Mexico and a few of us were snapping beautiful photos, taking in all that Puerto Vallarta has to offer. We were in awe at the scenery, it was so magical and beautiful!

Our Family Cabin Destroyed by Rim Fire

It’s hard to explain just how much a small little cabin in the woods can mean to one family. It’s not so much the actual cabin itself but more so the memories that were made from one such place. If those walls could talk, they would have a lot to say.

Everyday Travel

Places To Visit: Croatia

After attending my sister’s wedding in Paris, I was on an EasyJet flight to Croatia, a mere two hours away, to meet up with my friends. Regardless of the countless pictures I had viewed, I was filled with anticipation as to what my eyes would truly see in Croatia. From the moment I stepped off the plane I was not disappointed. I wish I could find a more intellectual word to describe what my eyes first beheld but “WOW” says it all. Majestic mountains greet you as soon as your feet touch Croatian soil. In spite of my desire to not look too touristy, I automatically took out my camera, shooting endlessly, almost reluctant to leave the tarmac.
