Christmas! It’s practically here!
Like countless families, every year we anxiously await Santa. We make advent calendar angels to count down the days, we wait for the sound of jingle bells, and we always remember to leave out milk and cookies! But there’s really nothing like getting a personalized video from Saint Nick himself! That’s why we love Portable North Pole (PNP).
Oooh Kitchenaid Mixers!
No kitchen is complete without one, right? With so many colors to choose from, you’re sure to find one in the perfect shade. But what about when the perfect shade isn’t enough? What about when you want something perfect-er? (That’s a word now, its been published.)
We have a whole bunch of ideas for Christmas decorating here on the blog, and I’m back with another! This is a simple, yet elegant way to put a finishing touch on your holiday decorations. Hey, you can even use this idea to make a quick centerpiece for your dining room table! That always seems to be the one thing I forget when preparing my house for my Christmas dinner. The centerpiece. I’ve been doing this for a few years now, and I love it!
My husband was out picking up some groceries for us last week, and came home with a bottle of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey Whiskey. He thought it sounded good and wanted to give it a try. I wasn’t really convinced. I mean, it seemed like one of those things that sounds good, but in reality is awful.
Hello, my name is Jess and I’m a secret celeb-gossip addict.
Wow, I never thought I’d come out and say that! I’ve spent years “jokingly” checking out celebrity gossip blogs and fashion mags but now that I’ve decided to share this with you, I think its official. Emily and I were on the fence about adding a celebrity section to the site (mainly because we didn’t want to look like the crazy people we are), but we’re taking it slow and giving it a shot!
Oh, Crumbs Bakeshop… how you complete me. When 2 of the other Mom Editors and I headed off to NYC for a Baby Expo in October… we knew we wanted to hit up a few places along the way. Crumbs Bakeshop in Times Square was one of them. So glad we went.
Welcome to our Places To Visit series. We highlight some of the most fascinating places and share with you a few details as if you were experiencing it for yourself. We like to explain on a scale how kid-friendly these places are and we hope that you enjoy. If you know of a Place To Visit that we must check out, contact us and let us know!
Having a cold when you’re pregnant is tough. You can’t take many over-the-counter medications to relieve symptoms, and you’re already tired as can be! I remember having a cold when I was about 6 months pregnant. It was awful. My doctor said I could take 2 doses of Zicam a day, but that really wasn’t enough to get the full benefits of zinc. But what’s worse than being pregnant with a cold, is having a baby or toddler with a cold! At least, in my opinion. I hate to see my kiddo suffering through a cold without many options for relief.
Do you have your Christmas Tree up yet? Some people (like my husband and his family) put their trees up the day after Thanksgiving. Some other people (like me and my family) put their trees up kind of as an afterthought and whenever they feel like dragging all the decorations out. It’s been interesting for my husband and I to meld our two worlds and completely different ways of doing things together – but it’s been fun!
I don’t know about you, but I have a silly sense of humor, and I love to make people giggle a bit.
As a Modern Day Dad, I find less and less time to do things that I used to do. Don’t get me wrong, the rewards of fatherhood far exceed the little things, but slowly, I have had to learn how to integrate some of my fondest activities back into my daily routine.
Welcome to Jess T.’s Tech Tuesday, where all your geek are belong to us!
There are a lot of camera apps. You can do just about anything with your photos on-the-go! But what’s really lacking for the iPhone is something neat for video. That’s where the Dot comes in. Check out this quick overview… I’ll wait here.
This year, our holiday feasts will cost more than ever, says the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Food prices jumped a whopping 4 to 5 percent in 2011 and are expected to continue climbing next year.
Tyler’s Country-Fried Steak with Uncle Ellis’ Cornmeal Gravy is a creation from the chef’s journey through the South–cubed steak with fresh marjoram dotting the flour-cracker coating mixture. Cornmeal Gravy tops the country-fried steak.
You read that right. Many ovens, new or old, have hot spots which makes for uneven cooking.
