Save your sanity with freezer cooking

A few weeks ago, I stumbled upon a website called Once A Month Mom. I can’t tell you how thrilled I was to find this site. I have a really hard time with dinner, to be honest. If you don’t, then this post may not be for you. I generally get home from work about 5:30, and need to have dinner on the table by 6:00 because that’s when the little native starts to get restless. She’s a year old, and like clockwork she needs to be fed dinner at 6 or else melt downs ensue. Snacks don’t cut it. There is no “tiding her over”. If I don’t have everything I need for dinner on hand, then I have to stop at the store and that puts me home about 6:00. You do the math……it hasn’t been working. I have tried meal planning, and it just ends up in disaster. It’s not that I don’t know how to cook or plan. I used to be really good at both, actually. But now it’s become such a huge source for anxiety that I would rather not do either. And I’ve been feeling like a failure for it! Not good.

Advice Camping Outdoors Reviews

Camping for beginners: Gear

It’s about that time of year again in my house, to dust off the camping gear. The camping season officially opens Memorial Day weekend, so I like to pull out the gear, make sure everything is in good shape, and take inventory of what I need to restock. A friend of mine asked “what do I need for camping? do I really need all that stuff?” In regards to my sporting goods store sized supply of gear. So, I thought it might be good to share with you, what you need and don’t need if you are new to this whole great outdoors thing! Even if you have gone camping before, things change a lot when you have kids. You suddenly have a whole new person (or people) to consider bringing supplies for. It can start to seem overwhelming when you think about all the things a little one needs. I will help you sort that out though. I’ll also include a list of my absolute favorite gear to make your trip to the wild more enjoyable. If you are an experienced camper, don’t worry. I’ll have a post for you later on too. Lets start with the beginner basics though!

How to Fold A Fitted Sheet

Ah the dreaded fitted sheet! For the longest time I didn't even attempt to fold this laundry monster, I would simply roll it up and stuff it into the bottom of our linen drawer. Problem is now that I'm a mama our limited storage space is even more cramped and stuffing drawers just doesn't cut it.

The Best Washer & Dryer for Busy Moms?

When looking at houses a few years ago, I remember one house sticking out to me. Not because of the beautiful wood floors or the amazing entry way, no. You should have seen the new front loading washer and dryer they had in their garage! *swoon*. It was red, it was beautiful and it was calling my name. I immediately asked if they would be included and the woman said “No Way. I can’t live without my washer & dryer”. I immediately wondered what was so special about it that she absolutely could not part with it. We tried, oh, we tried to convince her that we needed it more. We Failed.
