When it comes to hosting a birthday party for your child, there are many possibilities. It’s just a matter of finding a theme that works for your child. If your child is anything like mine, the theme could change from month to month so definitely ask a lot of questions to find out exactly what would work for them.

I didn’t just have morning sickness when I was pregnant with my daughter, I had all-day, all-night sickness. I was sick. Nothing satisfied my cravings, I was miserable. It didn’t last much past my 15th week though and I was thankful for that but I surely was counting down the days until I was in my second trimester.

We love tennis. Let me clarify though, we aren’t any good at tennis, but we love it anyway. Recently we picked up some tennis rackets and tennis balls from our local sports store as we made a commitment to getting out more, a commitment to our health and to spend that time together as a family. The first day we got out to the courts, we were ready. I already had in mind how fun it would be rallying the ball back and forth between all of us, from one side to the other. I stretched my legs, ready to race across my side of the court. I decided to let my husband serve the ball over to me. He bounced the ball a couple of times on the ground, and asked if I was ready. I nodded, and said I was, and my daughter was slightly in front of me, confident she was about to smash the ball back over to Dad before I could get it. “Okay, here it comes!” He said as he hit the ball with his racket. It whizzed through the air and right into the net as if fell, lifeless into the ground. “That was my warmup!” he said. He pulled another tennis ball from his pocket and tossed it into the air as he launched it over to my side, over the net and past my daughter before she even realized what happened. I wound my arm back, and swung my tennis racket as hard as I could towards the ball. The sound of the racket in the air was like a giant fly swatter, “swoooosh!”, and the ball went past me as well. “We will try again.” my husband shouted from the other side of the court. Time and time again he either hit it into the net, or right past both of us. Once he ran out of tennis balls, I started hitting them back with a little, but not much more, success than he had. We might not have done that well at tennis, but we did have a great time, and running after tennis balls is a pretty good workout.
