Vacations are a fantastic way to unwind, relax and take your kids to wonderful locations around the world, teaching them about different cultures, foods and climates. However, as we all know, vacations can be very expensive, with the cost of plane tickets, travel agents, meals, days out and other activities all taking their toll on every Mom’s purse.
Thanksgiving is one particular holiday where there is always plenty of food on the table. However, hosts may find themselves stumped when preparing a “gluten-free” Thanksgiving dinner. What should be avoided? How can families create a meal that everyone will be able to enjoy? Dr. Kristen Bobik, founder of Balance Chiropractic and Wellness Practitioners, has the following tips on identifying small changes that can be made to ensure Thanksgiving staples remain delicious and most importantly, safe.
Though kids may view Thanksgiving as the first stop on the school holiday vacation train, there’s a lot more for them to know about it than simply no class, stuffed turkey and whipped cream-topped pumpkin pie. Considering Thanksgiving is one of the only holidays in which children can learn about sharing, community, gratitude and compassion for others, it’s important to take the time to talk about its meaning.

Right around December is the time that I realize I had not yet started on my new years resolution to slim down. Yes, I know, I am running about 11 and a half months too late, but better late than never, right? At least that’s what I have been telling myself. Sometimes I could use a little kickstart, and when I finally get into my groove, slimfast has always been a helpful addition to my weight loss routine. Sometimes the things that I say to my husband are different than what I actually mean. I might joke and say “i want to look hot under the mistletoe”, but what I actually mean is I was to be healthier, fitter and more present for my family. The motivation can be hard, but I can make it happen!
Are you a fabulista? Of course you are! Caress® is currently hosting a photo challenge and we wanted to tell you all about it.

Publishers Clearing House is known for making dreams come true for people all across the United States. One thing I was surprised to learn was that they also help to make dreams come true for charities and individuals in need, as well! Through the benevolence of the founders of Publishers Clearing House — Harold and LuEsther Mertz, who are now deceased — over 40% of PCH’s profits go to trusts for the benefit of charities that support the environment, the arts, human rights, medical research, education and other extremely worthy causes. That is just so awesome to hear!
Travel is an incredibly rewarding thing to do with your family but the expenses can add up, one you’ve multiplied the cost of those hotel beds, dinners and ice creams! That said, it is entirely possible to have a fantastic vacation on relatively little money, especially as there’s an abundance of late deals to take advantage of at the moment.
This is a seasonal treat that everyone at your Thanksgiving table will be able to enjoy!
I love coffee. It’s my morning pick-me up, my lunchtime wake up call, it’s what gets me through the afternoon and it’s was keeps me up long enough to watch the news after the kids are in bed. Unfortunately I never have really liked my coffee hot. For years I’ve asked for iced coffee every time I order one out, pick one up at the store, and especially when I make one at home. Sometimes though, it’s hard to get the flavor just right.
