“Pink & Green: The New Christmas Colors”

Thanks to Duncan Hines for sponsoring my writing. There’s no limit to the baking possibilities, so grab your favorite Duncan Hines mix and Comstock or Wilderness fruit fillings and Bake On!

My daughter is a girly girl, she loves pink. Can’t say I blame her, she definitely gets the obsession from me. I admit, I own a small pink Christmas tree. As a matter of fact, it’s on my bookshelf right now. If I had my way, I’d be totally fine with pink & green as the official Christmas colors..

Recently, while at the story, my daughter asked if we could bake a Christmas cake. How can you turn down desserts, right? Of course, I said yes… and I asked her to pick out her favorite cake mix… she picked out the Duncan Hines Strawberry Cake. Hmm… yummy, of course.. but not quite what I had in mind for a Christmas cake. I wasn’t going to argue however…. now it was time to pair it with a delicious frosting… Can you guess what she picked? Creamy Homestyle Strawberry Frosting… but of course.

This frosting from Duncan Hines is absolutely delish. If you don’t use it all, you can cover and refrigerate any remaining frosting for up to 2 weeks.

You know what I found? This cake pairs well with the Pink Moscato Champagne from Barefoot Wines. Oh… mmm.

Strawberry is definitely a favorite at our house too! Maybe add a little red food coloring to the pink frosting and easily make it red for more authenticity?! Yum!
