I’m a huge fan of Firehouse Subs and I’ve written about them quite a bit on the site, and with good reason. Their food is amazing and if you like quality sandwiches for a good price, I’d definitely recommend checking them out if they are in your area. Best thing about them: my daughter loves their subs too. Yes, she actually takes a break from the Mac N Cheese to enjoy one of their subs.
That should tell you something, right?
My all-time favorite sandwich from Firehouse Subs is the New York Steamer.
It’s corned beef brisket, pastrami, melted provolone, mustard, mayo, and Italian dressing.
Well, that was until last week…. there’s a second favorite in town and it’s for a limited time only!
Surfs up! Introducing the Pork & Slaw.
He’s cute, isn’t he?
Available as a Limited Time Offer menu item, Firehouse Subs® announces the addition of the King’s Hawaiian® Pork & Slaw sandwich at all 515 Firehouse Subs restaurants. Breaking sales records in Jacksonville, Fla., Greenville/Spartanburg, S.C., and Phoenix, Ariz., Firehouse Subs recognized consumer appeal and decided to offer the flavorful fare nationwide.
King’s Hawaiian Pork & Slaw combines hardwood smoked pork and Sargento® pepper jack cheese, steamed to perfection, then topped with homemade tangy Hawaiian coleslaw piled high on a King’s Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sweet sandwich bun.
This is the first time King’s Hawaiian, whose founders created the recipe for Original Hawaiian Sweet Bread, and whose dinner rolls are the No. 1 brand in the country, has partnered with a national restaurant chain on their sandwich buns.

Here’s a little quick backstory on Firehouse Subs for those who are just hearing about them: Firehouse Subs, founded in Jacksonville, Fla., by former firefighting brothers Chris Sorensen and Robin Sorensen, is a 515-unit fast casual restaurant chain. Firehouse Subs offers oversized portions of premium hand-sliced meats and cheeses, steamed to make the flavors burst, then piled high with fresh produce atop a toasted sub roll. The restaurants reflect the authentic firefighter heritage of the founding family’s 200 years of firefighting service.
