There is something about spring that makes me want to go into cleaning mode. I can imagine that I’m not the only one. However, the depth of which I want to clean goes beyond the typical everyday tasks.
When spring rolls around, I get the urge to clean out the garage, clean out closets, organize drawers, plant flowers, and clear out flowerbeds. You get the idea.
Lately, I’ve really had the urge to actually plant new flowers and switch from the traditional mulch to lava rocks. We’ve been trying to plan what flowers we want to use and since we are in the middle of spring time, I tried to map out exactly what flowers would be perfect to plant. I decided to challenge myself and take the Bing It On Challenge to see what I can find when it comes to sprucing up for spring.
Bing It On allows people to compare unbranded web search results side-by-side. The user selects which results they prefer on 5 searches, and then the tool reveals the search engine they liked better.
First up, flowers. What kind of flowers do you plant in the springtime? Let’s do a search…
A quick search for Best Spring Flowers led me to these results. I loved the results on the left because it not only gave me images but it also have me a few results that I found helpful! Loved the options for Spring and Fall.
Next, I wanted to find out what the latest color trends are for the home. I love switching out pillows, blankets and adding in pops of color to brighten up the home.
I decided to do a few more searches and gather inspiration. I wanted to know about flowerbeds, what inspires, what are the best colors for spring. Without even trying, here were the results of my challenge:
Microsoft doesn’t expect Bing to win every time for every person. They created the tool to help people determine which web searches results are best for them, based on their own personal preference. I was surprised. The thing that led me to picking the search engine that I did was the image options. There were so many choices.
You should take the Bing It On Challenge too and see which web search results you prefer–and share it with me. I’d love to see how what you are thinking to spruce it up for Spring!
For the flowerbeds that inspired me, I’ll be happy to give you a peek:
I loved these colors. The pinks, blues, oranges, greens… this is my idea of heaven in the springtime.
