Strawberry Angel Cake Dessert


This cake is so good, it’s heavenly. I guess the name is fitting. While Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching, I’ve been trying to come up with different ideas of things I want to make to get in the spirit of love. This cake… does it. You will love this cake.. possibly want to marry it. Just take my word for it.

This is one of those recipes where I feel that I have to apologize and then tell you you’re welcome. Please take my word for it and make this. If you do, let us know…. mmk?

Let’s begin!

Strawberry Angel Cake Dessert Recipe

Makes one 13 x 9 pan, Servings: 12-16

Ingredients:

1 angel food cake
1 3 ounce box strawberry gelatin
2 cups water
1 bag frozen sweetened strawberries (or 1 carton of fresh strawberries)
2 envelopes Dream Whip *
2 cups milk

*note: If you can’t find Dream Whip, Cool Whip will be fine.

Directions:

Make gelatin according to package directions. Refrigerate until a thick syrup, not fully set.

Break angel food cake into bite sized pieces and place in large bowl.

Prepare Dream Whip according to package directions.

Beat gelatin with electric mixer until fluffy. Add thawed strawberries.

Fold Dream Whip into gelatin mixture.

Fold into angel food cake. Place in 13 x 9 cake pan and refrigerate.

    Oh my goodness-I think you have the exact recipe I made as a kid when given a child’s cookbook. Have seen similar recipes but they weren’t the same. Must give this a try as I remember how much I loved it years and years ago (and years and years and years..)
