I don’t know what it is but there is something about football that just makes us want to eat with our hands… you know what I’m talking about and no…. this isn’t no delicate tea cake kind of party either. We are talking about nachos, pizza, hot wings, dips and hefty sandwiches like those from Firehouse Subs (my favorite is the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket!). Drinks are easy and a no-brainer: just keep plenty of beer on ice!
Here are some tips to help make your party planning successful:
Can’t cook? That’s no excuse. It’s Super Bowl Sunday. If you aren’t big on cooking, cater! It’s actually quite easy and very much worth it. We recommend Firehouse Subs… have you had their sandwiches? Best… ever!
Have plenty of drink options. From beer and lemonade to sweet tea… having ice cold drinks handy is a great way to make sure you don’t spend much time away from the game.
You’d think this would fall under #1 up there but no, snacks are a must and their own separate meal. You’ll want to have plenty of snacks on hand from chips & dip to pretzels… lots of munchies are in order!
Your game day rituals should be set in stone—sports and superstition go hand in hand. Don’t let anyone sit in your chair. Wear the same gear. Talk to the same people. Break out the Macarena at every TD. Whatever it takes to get that big win!
A black-and-white-striped tablecloth is a more subtle way of invoking football.
Hand out “rating cards” (1 through 5) to all the guests, and ask them score each Super Bowl commercial as it airs. Tally up the points so you can announce at the end which commercial is the party favorite.
Most of all, HAVE FUN!
