What is Tegu?
They aren’t just your average blocks, that’s for sure! They are eco-friendly, magnetic, Honduran wooden blocks. These are seriously the coolest blocks I have ever seen! Plus they are SAFE!
• no lead
• no plastic
• water-based lacquer finish
• FSC Certified (Forest Stewardship Council)
*A little about the FSC: “Sustainable forestry” means that trees are harvested in a selective and controlled manner such that the forest is allowed to continue to develop and properly regenerate. As you can imagine, that doesn’t involve clear-cutting. Tegu is working directly with FSC-certified woodcutting cooperatives in the north of Honduras. Their wood suppliers have the requisite legal permits from the Honduran governmental forestry agency (ICF) and oversight from international NGOs (Nepenthes, Rainforest Alliance). In addition to supporting sustainable forestry, they are actively replanting to help Honduras regain the forest cover it has lost in past decades.
My son loves to play with blocks, it’s great for your children’s imagination and creativity. When we were opening the blocks I told my son Ethan. “Hey guess what makes these blocks magical?” His eyes opened so wide as he watched the two blocks I was holding stick together. “WOW!” He shouted, “they ARE magical!” It was adorable. He was so excited to finally have blocks that wouldn’t fall down on him as he was stacking them. We spent hours making awesome things. The options are really endless with these blocks. I will also have to admit, I played with these blocks for almost an hour after my kids went to bed. They are addicting and SO much fun!
Here are some fun things we created:
These blocks are a wonderful investment as they will be blocks that I know my kids will pass down to their children and so on.
