I don’t eat steak often and can’t even remember the last time I had it, however, there are certain times when I could go for a really good steak. Of course, with the steak comes the mashed potatoes and green beans. I just have to have it that way.
I have an absolute favorite steak recipe. The seasonings, the way it’s cooked, mmm… it couldn’t get any more perfect for me!
Spice-Rubbed Strip Steak
1 1/2 teaspoons whole black peppercorns, coarsely crushed
1 teaspoon whole coriander seeds, coarsely crushed
1 1/2 teaspoons whole dill seeds, coarsely crushed
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon red-pepper flakes, coarsely crushed
1 1/2 teaspoons coarse salt
4 steaks, we use bone-in strip steaks (We recommend: Walmart USDA Choice Premium Beef)
Vegetable oil, for grates
Combine peppercorns, coriander, dill, red-pepper flakes, and salt in a small dish. Rub spice mixture evenly over both sides of steaks.
Heat grill to medium-high; lightly oil grates. Place steaks on grill; cover. Cook, turning once, until meat is desired doneness, about 8 minutes for medium-rare.
This rub goes well with any steak! You can choose boneless, skirt, whatever you’d like.
