Leave The Curtains Drawn
There was a scene in Shakespeare s Romeo that talked about Romeo s depression, where he kept himself locked in an artificial night with the curtains drawn in his room. Though you may not be lovesick, not letting in the sunlight can make your body think something is wrong. You don t have to fling open the blinds in the morning like a Disney princess, but you should let yourself see daylight. Doing so allows your circadian clock to function properly, prompting certain hormones to release at the start of your day.
The result is a burst of energy, concentration, and optimism.
