Check Your Emails
Are you one of those people who reach for the phone right after your alarm goes off? A poll done by Sleep Advisor found that, out of the 1,000 Americans, 17 percent of them check their emails first thing in the morning. It may feel like you are doing something productive, but the reality is that you are only spiking your stress levels.
Part of the reason people end up checking their emails early in the day is because so many of us are using our phones as an alarm clock. You have checked your emails even before using the bathroom or making your bed, and that ends up leading to follow-ups, replies, and worry. Someone else has set your morning for you, rather than you enjoying it slowly and unwinding.
The solution? Get a regular alarm clock that is not attached to your phone so you are not tempted to launch right into your emails.
