Kitchen Tasks
Clean up splattered sauce and food from the microwave and countertop before sitting down to eat. This includes crumbs from the toaster.
Once you’ve eaten, be sure to wash your dishes or stick them right into the dishwasher. Don’t let those dirty dishes pile up. If you wash a dish by hand, dry it and put it away instead of leaving it to air dry. The same rule applies to cutting boards. In the evening, scrub out the kitchen sink.
When you notice that the garbage and recycling bins are ready to spill over, empty them. Don’t precariously stack items, because that will lead to more mess. Similarly, empty used coffee grounds from the coffeemaker or K-cups. Dispose of the plastic and grounds accordingly.
Unpack your groceries as soon as returning from shopping. At the same time, you should purge your freezer, fridge, and pantry of any outdated items.
