Wine Review: Mad Housewife Merlot

Let me start out by saying I consider myself a wine snob when it comes to drinking red wine. I typically won’t drink a cheap bottle unless I know I am getting a great deal for the quality of wine. I am more of a Cabernet drinker than I am a Merlot, but we will get to that next week. The Madhouse Wife Merlot scored really high with me. This was an outstanding Merlot that was very easy on the palate. It is a very smooth wine that is packed with great flavor. Their Merlot is really making me second guess my love for Cabernet. (Did I just say that out loud?)

With Mad Housewife Merlot you are getting a lot more than what you are paying for. This puts a few expensive Merlots I have tried to shame. I still can’t believe you can get a bottle for under $10. You won’t hear me complaining though.

Mad Housewife Merlot marries complex flavors of blackberries and plum with hints of vanilla and spice, for a rich and smooth wine, easily pairable with an array of dishes.” This Merlot could be easily paired with Lamb or Pork and would be a great wine to bring to any dinner party. If you want to bring a red, I would recommend the Mad Housewife Merlot. It’s a wine anyone can enjoy. If you are hosting a dinner party, I would recommend trying this amazing dish from the Mad Housewife recipe list: Lamb Chops with Roasted Figs. Pair that with your Merlot and not only will your guests be completely impressed, they will be talking about it for years.
