When you are handed an agenda that involves smiles, pajamas and a bathing suit, you know you are in for a treat and that’s exactly what happened when we were invited to head to The Crystal Coast last month. Words and photos cannot express just how beautiful North Carolina’s Southern Outer Banks are but Megan is going to try to show you with the amazing photographs she took while we were on this trip.
Located in the Southern Outer Banks of North Carolina, the Crystal Coast possesses everything you’d want in a vacation. From endless miles of shoreline and wild horses roaming freely, this unknown gem is the perfect getaway and a piece of coastal Carolina paradise.
First Day Agenda
We arrived at 1 Magnolia Moon, an amazing “Sandcastle” that I’d love to one day own. (The accommodations provided by Emerald Isle Realty)
We relaxed, enjoyed the view and got ready for dinner. That night I had the best wedge salad I’ve ever had in my life at Amos Mosquito’s Restaurant & Bar. THEE best wedge salad and that’s hard to beat!
Second Day Agenda
Breakfast in-room before departing to the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores!
After that, we got the chance to experience Ft. Macon:
Boat Ride around Shackleford Banks on the Local Yokel, picnic lunch at Cape Lookout National Seashore & climb Cape Lookout Lighthouse. From there, we got to experience Cape Lookout National Seashore.
Breathtaking.
That evening, we headed out on a Yacht leaving from the Morehead Waterfront. We enjoyed a relaxing wine & cheese cruise before dinner at Ruddy Ducks
Third/Last Day Agenda
After salt-water activities, we headed over to the Beaufort Food & Wine: Vin de Mer Grand Tasting & Culinary Village where we got to sample 300+ wines & taste hors d’oeuvres prepared by local restaurants.
After that, we experienced the famous Beaufort Double Decker Bus Tour as we got to witness some of Beaufort’s historic sites like the:
Old Burying Grounds
Maritime Museum
Beaufort Waterfront
That evening, we had a catered multi-course meal and wine tasting at the place we were staying. The beautiful 1 Magnolia Moon.
The next morning, it was time to say goodbye.
We fell in love with The Crystal Coast and will always have a special place in our heart for it!
