I remember the baby’s first Christmas like it was yesterday.. Baby’s first Christmas was one we won’t ever forget.
Adding a new baby to our family almost 9 years after our first, everything seems so different this time around. For our first child, everything was perfectly planned with family members all around watching her every move. She delighted in the attention and was the star of the show.
My second certainly has a mind of her own and already by the time she was a few months old had earned the title of “Little Miss Independent.”
Around the time of her first Christmas, our house was in the middle of a remodel. What was supposed to go smoothly and it up turning into a project that lasted more than four times longer than expected. What was promised as a non-invasive, room by room ordeal ended up with us having all our belongings including our refrigerator in our living room with only just a patch of floor for our family of four to share.
As we were in the middle of a remodel we couldn’t entertain family like we normally did nor could we invite our out-of-state relatives for the get-togethers. We couldn’t leave as we had quickly learned the company doing our remodel was one we had to monitor almost every step of the way to ensure they weren’t cutting corners or making mistakes.
No babies first Christmas was one where the days coming up to it we’re quite stressful, it was a relief to have some time away from the project where we could just focus on our family even if we were only sharing a small strip of carpet in our living room. We didn’t let the situation get us down, and we focused on what truly mattered the most, family.
In fact, I think if it weren’t for that little baby enjoying her first Christmas with a family that loves her so dearly, it might not have been as pleasant as it was.
That’s the great thing about babies, being able to see the world through their eyes and realizing that the things we make a big deal really aren’t as important as they seem. Babies first Christmas turned out to be fantastic and we enjoyed celebrating with each other. Fortunately not too much longer and we also had and awesome belated Christmas gift for mom and dad, a downstairs remodel that included a brand new kitchen… and her sleeping through the night.
Since Pampers Swaddlers is #1 choice of hospitals, I’ve decided to gift them to myself (okay, her) because she is now sleeping through the night. AMEN. Pampers Swaddlers Overnights have an Absorb Away Liner that pulls wetness and mess away from baby’s skin – so both you, and your baby, can sleep soundly. Try Swaddlers Protection, with nighttime in mind.
From 11/4 – 11/12, receive a free $20 gift card with a purchase of any 2 Pampers value boxes of diapers (regularly $42.99). This offer is good in-store only.
