“What I’ve Learned From Remodeling My Kitchen, So Far”

This post is sponsored by Ace Hardware.

As soon as I moved into this house, I knew I wanted to remodel the kitchen. Almost nine years later, here we are. We have been without a kitchen since the end of January, and I am ready for this project to end. It’s getting there. It really is. It just feels like it’s been forever. My husband and I swear that we won’t be doing any more large projects like this—not counting the skate ramp he wants built in his backyard.

This was our kitchen before. It was small. The opening into the kitchen is what you see here, and a lot of times you would have to turn sideways just to enter it. It was small and cramped, some of the cabinets wouldn’t shut, and it really just needed to be completely gutted.

So, that it was. Completely gutted.

When it came down to it, I knew I wanted to paint the kitchen a color like we had before. You can see our previous color in the right of that photo. When I had the opportunity to use paint from Ace Hardware for this post, I knew what color I wanted to pick out. A lighter, more inviting color compared to what we had before.

I knew that the Barbados Blue would match the flooring we had picked out.

The kitchen is finally starting to come together. Some of the walls are finished. I can’t paint the actual kitchen until the rest of the cabinets are up.

It is slowly coming together. I am so excited.

When it was time to touch up a few walls. I decided to get to work. I love the lighter version of this color. It is just so peaceful.

I can’t wait until the entire kitchen is done and I am able to sit back and relax. For now, I will sit here and stare at my beautiful Barbados Blue walls and daydream.
