I was beyond excited when I found out I would be getting a Boba to review. I have what some people call a baby-wearing obsession, but to me it is so much more than just an obsession. It is the personal connection, the interaction and bonding, providing security to my son, and so much more. Not to mention, it allows me to be hands-free, which makes it that much more worth it.

I had heard so many great things about the Boba Carrier from friends so I couldn’t wait to try it on and see for myself what an amazing carrier this truly is.

Boba is a Soft Structured baby carrier (SSC) that is intended for children between 15 to 45 lbs. Boba has a few extra inches of height to keep your center of gravity closer to your body and support your little one’s back. The innovative thing about the Boba carrier is that there are foot straps attached to the waist belt for the child’s feet to sit in enabling a healthy sitting position for the child. The footstraps not only give little tired legs a rest, but support the legs in a flexed abducted (froglike) position which naturally tilts the pelvis, fills out the hip sockets, and aligns the spine.

I have put this carrier through some serious testing to see how comfortable my son and I could be in it. I am not talking about just running around doing errands (which we have done NUMEROUS times) but I am talking about heading to the Beach Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, California and doing some serious walking through lots and lots… and lots of sand! Have you ever walked through sand? Not the easiest thing and definitely exhausting. Now imagine it WITH a baby. Yikes. We usually walk along the shore since the sand is wet and harder making it easier to walk, but if I did that than I wouldn’t really be testing out the carrier the way I wanted, would I? So I said a little prayer (okay, not really) and took my first few steps onto the sand and then gave up… Okay, totally joking. I walked halfway through the sandy beach part of the Boardwalk to meet up with my fellow Modern Day Moms editor, Jess T. and her two daughters.

I couldn’t believe I walked all that way carrying my son in the Boba and not once did I have to stop and rest, and most importantly never once did my back start to hurt. The Boba is seriously one of the most comfortable carriers I have ever used and that is saying a lot!
