Bumbleride – The Ride of Your Life: Indie Review

From the moment I first laid eyes on Bumbleride’s Indie stroller I was in love. You may remember when we listed it as our ‘Top 10 Summer ‘Must-Have’s’.” So you can imagine how ecstatic I was when I found out Bumbleride was sending me one to review! I am pretty sure I jumped up and down on my couch- actually I know I did. I was THAT excited and for good reasoning. This is one INCREDIBLE stroller!

There are so many exciting features that I can’t wait to share with you, but first let me talk a little about who Bumbleride is and why you should get to know them.

The Bumbleride team is committed to making baby mobility fun, simple and intuitive. From our designers who seek to understand how you interact with your children and develop ergonomic designs for you and your baby, to our customer care team making you smile. We’re all focused on providing what’s best for your little one. This is the Bumbleride experience – the ride of your life.

I was also happy to read that two parents who were inspired by the birth of their first child started Bumbleride. I love nothing more than reading about parent’s dedicated to their family needs and wants. I feel that we, as parents, know more about what would suit children and parents more than big corporations.

I couldn’t wait to hit the streets with the Indie and experience “the ride of your life” for myself. Putting together the stroller was a complete breeze and we were ready to go in less than 30 minutes. I strapped my youngest in the 5-point harness and the minute the stroller hit the pavement I said… “WHOA! Now this is an AMAZING stroller!” I have never pushed a stroller that was as smooth and easily maneuverable as the Indie. Seriously, jogging over small rocks, grass, pavement, cracks and more, it never became challenging.

We used the Indie quite often. Whether it was evening walks, jogging time or just out enjoying life.

Now onto the details of the Indie:

Bumbleride Indie is not your average all-terrain stroller. Weighing a slim 20 lbs., Indie combines the off-road ability of a multi-terrain stroller with the lean agility of an urban jogger and features a 360 degree swiveling front wheel with forward and rear facing locking positions. Indie is suitable for newborns and toddlers using a multi- adjustable reclining backrest. Ready to tackle any terrain, Indie comes standard with rear suspension, a height- adjustable handle, multi-use bumper bar, large storage basket and removable cup holder.

– For infancy and up to 45 lbs
– Five-point safety harness
– 12″ air-inflated tires
– Swiveling front wheel with fixed inline position
– Reclining backrest
– Adjustable footrest
– Spacious cargo basket
– SPF 45 sun canopy
– Lightweight aluminum frame
– Compact fold
– Carrying handle

The Indie is also car seat compatible! It is packaged with a multi-use bar which can act as a bumper bar or a universal car seat adapter bar. Here’s a list of compatible car seats:

– Graco Snugride
– Graco Snugride 32
– Graco Snugride 35
– Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 30/30
– Chicco Keyfit 30
– Combi Shuttle
– Baby Trend Flex Loc
– Britax Chaperone

You can also purchase an adapter for the Maxi Cosi Car Seat.

Want to see the features in action?
I created two short video’s for your viewing:

So I could have re-done the first video completely, but here on Modern Day Moms, we are all about honesty, and that honestly happened to me. Embarrassing? Yes, but real. haha :) So watch the second video to see how the stroller collapses and re opens.

One thing I forgot to mention in the video is that the handle bar is completely adjustable. No matter your height, you are sure to find the perfect fit with Indie’s adjustable handle.

I would also like to share with you some of Bumbleride Indie’s siblings.

The Indie Twin: Launched as Bumbleride’s first side-by-side stroller, Indie Twin provides the best of both worlds by accommodating both infants and older siblings. With all the features and functionality of the Indie single, Indie Twin’s independent seating system allows you to accommodate each individual child. The backrests, canopies and footrests can all be adjusted independently from one another, giving your children a ride as custom as their personalities. At 29 inches wide, Indie Twin glides through doorways and its dual front swiveling wheels make maneuvering a breeze.

Indie Natural Edition: If you are looking into a more eco-friendly stroller, than look no further. The Natural Edition is the same Indie we all know and love but of course, revamped for a more eco-friendly approach. The exterior fabric is made using 50% recycled material and the seating surfaces are made using 50% bamboo fiber for temperature regulation and moisture absorption. The Natural Edition also comes in a Twin.

LOVE my Indie Twin!! I’ve never met a doorway we can’t fit through & being able to have an infant seat next to an older child is a must for my nearly-mom-of-four lifestyle. Honestly, had I known about it sooner I would never have wasted money on a double in-line stroller.
