Cocktail Corner: 4 Delicious Terra d’Oro Zinfandel Port Cocktails

Spice of the Sierras (rocks glass)

2 ounces Terra d’Oro Zinfandel Port

1 ounce spiced rum

ounce fresh lemon juice

ounce orange liqueur

Garnish: sugar rim and lemon twist

Rim the glass with sugar, fill with crushed ice, set aside. Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker, add ice, shake then strain over the crushed ice-filled glass. Add lemon twist for a colorful garnish.

Golden Monkey (stemmed cocktail glass or martini glass)

1 ounces Terra d’Oro Zinfandel Port

1 ounces brandy

ounce sweet vermouth

dash Angostura bitters

Garnish: Orange zest

Pour all ingredients into a cocktail mixing glass. Fill with ice. Stir for about 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with orange zest.

Cherry Cloud (stemmed cocktail glass or martini glass)

1 ounce Terra d’Oro Zinfandel Port

1 ounces pisco

ounce lemon juice

ounce Cherry Heering liqueur

1 egg white

Garnish: dash orange bitters

Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Dry shake vigorously (without ice) for about 20-30 seconds to make the egg white frothy. Add ice, then shake again. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Sprinkle a dashes of orange bitters across the surface of the drink.

Port of Manhattan (martini glass or rocks glass)

2 ounces rye whiskey
1 ounce Terra d’Oro port
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Garnish: drunken cherry

Stir whiskey, port and bitters in a mixing glass filled with ice. Strain into a martini glass, or serve over fresh ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with a drunken cherry.

(Drunken Cherries: Fill a small jar with sour baking cherries. Add enough port to cover the cherries. Keep refrigerated up to 2 weeks.)
