Curious George Inspired Banana Mug Muffins

“Curious George Inspired Banana Mug Muffins”

This post is in partnership with Hulu.

Your favorite monkey is swinging into your home. You can now watch all 9 seasons of Curious George, now streaming only on Hulu. Hulu has all 9 seasons (108 episodes) of the animated TV series, as well as the animated film Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey.

With that in mind, we decided to create a banana mug muffin in Curious George’s honor. We love Curious George. The theme song is catchy and he is as curious as can be, just like many of our children. Curious George is an animated series based on the popular books by Margret and H.A. Rey.

Aimed at preschool viewers (ages three to five), the goal of the series is to inspire children to explore science, engineering, and math in the world around them. And what better guide is there for this kind of exploration than the world’s most curious monkey?

This recipe is super easy and a lot of fun.

Let’s get started!

1 tbsp butter, melted
1 egg lightly beaten
1 tbsp milk
1 banana, mashed
3 tbsp flour
3 tbsp brown sugar
½ tsp baking powder

Melt butter in mug in the microwave for 10 seconds.

Once melted, add in the egg and milk and lightly beat with a fork until combined.

Add in your mashed banana into the mug and continue mixing until mixed thoroughly.

Add in your dry ingredients right into the mug and beat with your fork until combined.

Ready for the fun? Place the mug in the microwave and cook for 55 seconds.

If it needs a bit more cooking, just pop it in the microwave at 10 second increments until it’s done and ready.
