The beloved author Dr. Seuss has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid and I love that in school it is still a celebration of all things Seussical! As a way to celebrate I try to come up with a craft or snack that will be fun and go with our favorite stories. This year I went with the classic Cat in the Hat and the Lorax for easy inspirational desserts.
Cat in the Hat Yogurt Snack
Plain or Vanilla Yogurt
Strawberry Yogurt
Red food coloring
Clear cups
In a mixing bowl add strawberry yogurt and several drops of red food coloring to give it the red hat color.
Layer the yogurts in the clear cup. I started with strawberry yogurt and then vanilla, and repeated.
For a little dazzle add a little whip cream on top
Of course you can always replace strawberry yogurt with fresh strawberries.
The Lorax Cookies
Nutter Butter cookies
Yellow Frosting
Edible candy eyes
Add a drop of frosting to back of eyes and place close together at the top of the cookie.
Using the star shapes tip on the frosting create the yellow Lorax mustache. Many of the cookie frosting’s have that tip as an option, so if you don’t own one no need to buy it.
