We are an adventurous family and I often try to plan fun things for us to do on the weekends or when time permits. My daughter loves adventure and spontaneity, never really wanting to just sit around, always wants to be doing something. I love that.
Here are some fun family-friendly getaway and end-of-summer activity ideas for the whole household:
Family Drives or Mini-Vacations
Whether we decide to go on a family drive or to another city for the weekend, we always try to do something fun. You can never go wrong with the zoo, for example. Better yet, whenever you visit a different city, why not try to find a local zoo to visit? Not only did we recently find a zoo when we visited Palm Beach, but we also found a planetarium, which was AWESOME. Even as an adult, I found it super relaxing and peaceful! I’d definitely visit one again.
Anything nature related is alright with me. My daughter loves to explore. Recently we took a trip to a small island and found coconuts! My husband ended up grabbing one and we had fun trying to open it to drink the water from it.
My daughter thought it was really cool and couldn’t believe her eyes! She still talks about “that time we found the coconut and drank from it!” Perfect summer adventure if you ask me.
