I’m just going to come out and say it… I have a very busy daily schedule and it can be chaotic at times. As a work-from-home mother of a pre-teen in homeschool and a toddler who refuses to nap, my life can be go go go go go from the moment I wake up until the moment I go to bed.
I can be pretty forgetful at times and I’ve found myself writing little notes down to help make my day easier, but I really needed something that could act as an assistant of some sort. While this may not clean the baseboards or vacuum up the crumbs left over by my messy eaters, Google Home has become my ultimate sidekick. You can find Google Home in the Google Store. Send this link to your husband NOW. Here’s why…
Google Home allows you to be hands-free! Yes…. it allows you the freedom to stream music, get updates on traffic and your daily schedule, get nutritional information about your home cooked meal or favorite restaurant all by voice command through Google Assistant.
It provides easy, voice-command capabilities that are perfect for entertaining, a busy household, or a person on-the-go. SOUNDS LIKE ME, ha!
You can access a variety of features including alarm, calendar, dictionary, flight information, music, shopping lists, traffic, weather and more.
Here’s How It Works:
o Google Home needs to be connected to your home’s wi-fi which can be done easily through the Google Home app.
o Using your voice, simply activate and command the Google Home device by saying, “Ok Google.” followed by your request.
o To operate, you can use the Google Home app or touch controls at any time.
o By using your voice, it’s easy to access your Google Home and the Google Assistant to help plan your day, enjoy entertainment, and get answers all without having to get on other devices.
o You can also use it to control your home if you have a Nest thermostat, SmartThings devices or any of the other options listed here.
We have a Nest Thermostat and it has literally made it so much easier to control. If it’s too hot or too cold, it’s easy for me to ask Google Home to change my thermostat without taking my eyes off my busy toddler.
You haven’t met a busy toddler until you’ve met my little one…. constantly in everything.
Here are some general questions you can ask your Google Home and some questions that my oldest daughter loves to ask, surprised when Google Home answers her:
o Wake me up at 7am tomorrow
o Set a 13 minute timer for pizza
o Add milk to my shopping list
o Is my flight on time?
o Play sneezing panda video on the Living Room TV
o Turn on the bedroom lights
o Set the thermostat to 72 degrees
o Turn on my coffee maker
o Play music by Sia
o Play the latest episode from This American Life’
o How far away is the moon?
o What is the nearest pharmacy
o How long will it take to get to work?
o How many teaspoons in a cup?
