Inspiration for a Kid-Friendly Room

“Inspiration for a Kid-Friendly Room”

I recently worked with Pier 1 Imports and was on a quest to turn my boring family room into a kid-friendly space that is also cozy and modern. Below, I will share with you what I bought and how these items made a difference in the room.

First, I started with pillows and rugs. I was able to base the colors of the new pillow by looking at the current decor in the family room. I had a lot of magenta, green, orange and navy blue which led me to these choices:

Next up, the lamps and lanterns. I was excited when I discovered these adorable green lanterns at the local store. I have a thing for lanterns and this globe style was perfect. Loved the green too.

Here’s a tip: You can also fill lanterns like this with potpourri since the lids most likely have holes in them.

I loved the honeycomb look on the lamp with the teal shade and the blue globe lamp worked well with the round lantern.

If you haven’t smelled the ginger peach scent, you are missing out. It’s subtle yet reminds me of summer. I stocked up on the room spray, candles and potpourri.

These lamps looked great in person:
