“It’s a Pet Dash at Dollar General”

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Sponsored by Purina for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Some of us Modern Day Moms have fur babies as part of our family and I am no exception! As you have seen before, we have two Boston Terriers and they really add character to our household. They are fun and certainly animated. I take care of them and love them as much as I can. I’ve done research on their breed so that I am a aware of what to do and what not to do.

And I always choose Purina as their dog food. It has always offered a nice variety of different meals and flavors for them at an affordable price. They love the Chicken & Rice and Lily often picks out the chunks of chicken to eat first.

This time, I chose to shop at Dollar General to purchase their food. I have one near my house, only a two minute drive, so I stopped by the other day. I was able to park right in front of the store, so that made it easy enough. Bet you didn’t know that Purina products for both dogs and cats are available at Dollar General. They carry products like: Cat Chow, Kitten Chow, Kit & Kaboodle, Friskies, Deli Cat, Fancy Feast, Dog Chow, Puppy Chow, Moist & Meaty, Beneful, Alpo, Mighty Dog, Beggin Strips, Busy Bone, Friskies Party Mix, Waggin Train, Whisker Lickins, Tidy Cats).

The dog food section didn’t offer a multitude of varieties because it is an older, smaller store, but there was plenty to choose from. Plus, smaller store means I don’t have to navigate through big aisles and search hard for what I’m looking for. They had Beneful, but I wanted a bigger bag to get more for my money, so I went with their Purina Dog Chow Complete in the 20 lb bag. It was only $13! At most other stores it usually costs anywhere from $18-20!

So I grabbed my bag and headed to check out.

One thing I noticed was the store was not busy at all, so it wasn’t crowded, which made shopping quick and easy. I like to get in and out, especially if I have my sometimes impatient 8 year old with me.

Checkout was a breeze and I was on my way out in less than 4 minutes! Have you heard of the #DGPetDash that is currently going on? You can participate in the #DGPetDash contest on Instagram. Each participant will be asked to fill 1 DG shopping bag with pet items from DG and upload a picture of your haul to Instagram. The photo with the most likes will receive $100 worth of free pet food/treats from Purina (in the form of 5 $20 Purina manufacturer coupons).

While you’re at it, check out the Dollar General Alpo Products as well.
