So it seems my job here at Modern Day Moms is to talk about the stuff we don’t talk about (first DivaCups, now this)… so let’s get to it.
My name is Jessica and my boobs leak like geysers. *Whew* ok, now that I’ve gotten that off my chest, we can move forward. I’ve got a lot of milk. I mean, A LOT of milk. I have so much I use it for other things. I’ve cured pink eye and soothed eczema. Heck, I even made breast milk butter once (that’s for another post… haha). So when I first started nursing, I tried disposable breast pads (gave me mastitis), reusable cloth breast pads (smelled gross), and even folded up cloth diaper inserts (too bulky)! Then one day I came across these bad boys…
These things are tiny miracles, ladies. Made of skin-friendly silicone, these lily pad shaped pasties go on your nipples not to soak up milk, but to prevent them from ever leaking in the first place. You heard me. PREVENTION! Now I can vouch for these things holding up on 118 degree days, in the pool, during exercise, with no bra (really, NO BRA!!!) and through frequent feedings. Once they start losing their stickiness, you rinse them off, dry them off (I flopped mine around to air dry them) and pop them back on. THAT’S IT! You can use them time and time again, only needing to replace them entirely when they get really busted up. So take care of them and they’ll take care of you!
Seriously, do yourself (and your wardrobe) a favor, check out SimplyLily.com or their Facebook page and try these things out!

14 years agoI loved these, three babies later I’m still a fan. I even used them when I wasn’t nursing when I didn’t want to wear a bra. I always recommend Lilypadz to new moms and even girlfriends in the summer as an alternative to a strapless bra!

14 years agoThey just don’t work for me, unfortunately. I leak everywhere at least once a day with them, and cleaning them hasn’t helped keep them sticky. They are now all slimy. I really wanted to like them, but I’m now pretty much just stuffing my nursing tank with a prefold to soak up milk.

14 years agoyes, and the secret is putting it on so that there are no little pockets of air , peeling them off of sensitive can leave a red mark but it fades, and doesn’t really hurt… you can wash them off, and re use them forever! saves alot of waste you would otherwise have if you use breast pads.

13 years agoI WISH I knew about these when I was nursing my 2 boys!!! I leaked so much and always seemed to run out of pads or leak out the bottom at the worst times. If I have another baby these will be first on my list of things to get.
