“Looking Back on Childhood Memories”

Now that I am a mother of two adorable little girls, I often think about the memories I have from my childhood. I had an older sister and grew up in sunny California. Life was good and I always try to remember the traditions and things that I was excited about as a child.

There are so many fun memories from my favorite family vacation to Disneyland in Southern California to my favorite meal, which was SpaghettiOs with meatballs. I wish I would have kept a better record of all the fun and exciting things I did growing up so I can share them with my children but these days, I’m all about making new memories with my family.

From Holiday traditions to favorite meals as a family, there is so much we can do together to show how much we love each other.

We recently attempted our first family vacation as a family of 4, with my youngest being 6 weeks. I wouldn’t say it was a vacation as much as it was just getting away to someplace new. The baby was still so little which meant we couldn’t really go out and explore. Most of the days were spent around her naps and feedings but we still enjoyed ourselves. I would almost go as far as to say as it was one of my favorite family trips we’ve done so far. It was just so nice to be able to spend quality time together as a family. Not to mention, we discovered a donut shop that had chocolate toffee donuts and cookie butter lattes. It was amazing.

Fast forward to today, my daughter was home sick from school and she wasn’t really feeling all that great… until dad made her a bedtime snack. What did she have? SpaghettiOs. Immediately she perked up, she was so excited! “This? For a snack? Yay!” It’s cute how something so simple can brighten your child’s day. After not eating much all weekend, she scarfed down the SpaghettiOs and had a big smile on her face.

Childhood memories last a lifetime so it’s important to make them count. I want my daughters to be able to tell their children all about the fun things they did growing up.

Speaking of growing up, it’s SpaghettiOs’ 50th Birthday, but their loyal fans are the ones getting the gifts. To celebrate five decades of fun, SpaghettiOs is hosting The BIG FiveO where fans can join the fun by participating in a series of ‘party games’ on Facebook.com/SpaghettiOs using #BIGFiveO for a chance to win party packs and prizes. You can celebrate by getting involved online in the last SpaghettiOs birthday party game this October. Snack. Snap. Submit. Share a playfully-scaled photo featuring a SpaghettiOs can for a chance to win one of five #BigFiveO grand prizes through October 17th.
