After reading all the amazing reviews, I’m skipping a fancy bassinet and going straight for this
Fisher-Price Auto Rock ‘n Play Sleeper.
From the Fisher Price website: Soothe, nap & play in one inclined sleeper with hands-free rocking motion. It’s an inclined sleeper and playtime seat in one, with music, sounds and hands-free rocking motion! An extra-deep seat helps baby sleep all night long. And with the push of a button, the sleeper helps baby relax with two different speeds of gentle rocking motion. Design is easy to assemble and lightweight for portability and storage. Additional features include a three-point restraint and linkable clacker toy. Seat pad is machine washable and dryer safe.
Easy & portable. I love having baby close and this is sorta perfect for that.

10 years ago@mscmommylife That’s what I’ve been hearing!!! I had an old fashioned bassinet with my first baby but it was so big, bulky and hard. This is not only cheaper but seems more practical!

10 years agoWe didn’t have the auto rocker but if it was out when we got ours we would have! The rock and play was our hero! My son and baby sister both loved it!

10 years ago@_lilciara The rock and play is just as amazing. My friend used it for her little one. The auto feature is nice but I don’t see myself using it at night, it’s LOUD. haha

10 years agoWe had something similar for my daughter and she was not a fan for some reason. I heard so many great things and so many people tell me it was a lifesaver. Hoping it works for you!!

10 years agoWe got one for my first son and he slept in it til he was way too big and we lent it to our friend and her daughter loved it, now we have it back for our next baby due in July. We love the rock and play! Wish they made it in adult size haha

10 years ago@moderndaymoms why *this* rock n play as opposed to others by fisher price? I saw there was one for $89.99 versus this one which is $79.99 on bed bath and beyond vs another one for $74.99 with 25 reviews raving about it… I keep reading the descriptions and they all sound the same
moderndaymoms
10 years ago@kimmipooxo Love it!!! Congrats. I’m due last week of June and I cannot wait!!!!
moderndaymoms
10 years ago@42bruin TBH, I don’t see a huge difference in them. I think each products different functions. This one auto rocks when plugged in so you don’t have to mess with it. It also plays sounds. Some vibrate, some don’t do anything. It’s all in what you want. The seat is usually the same, it’s the features you’re paying for. :)

10 years ago@moderndaymoms I had a regular bassinet with my first two. Babies seem happier to be a little propped up vs flat on their backs. It also folds up so well for travel. My son slept in it way longer than he was suppose to and I felt like crying we we had to put it in storage!

10 years ago@ashleyyk17 It’s actually not THAT low. I have a queen on a small base and it’s pretty flush with it.
moderndaymoms
10 years ago@ashleyyk17 I think it depends on the height of your mattress. This is also perfect for other rooms in the house too.

10 years agoYes! They are so awesome in many ways! Kelli used one for JP for about 6 months until his chubby self out grew it. But he loved it and it was convenient for Kelli to just roll over and he was right there. I definitely recommend these over a traditional bassinet. Super convenient portable and cozy for the baby!
