Product Review: Dyson DC59 Motorhead

I finally decided that I was fed up with my current vacuum. I won’t name any names, but it’s heavy and every time I use it, it beats me up. Literally.

Whenever I use the attachment, the tube is so springy that it pulls the whole vacuum over and hits me in the back. And one day, the chord pinched my leg, causing a hickey looking bruise. Anytime I use it, I wind up having lower back pain. It just isn’t worth it anymore. I’ve had enough.

So I was going to research lightweight and effective vacuums when a commercial for the Dyson DC59 Motorhead came on the TV. Perfect timing! I knew that was what I needed. You might have seen the commercials, too, as I see them often now.

I can say right now that I absolutely LOVE my new vacuum! It is so lightweight and does an incredible job picking up the dog hair and dirt from the rugs, floor and sofa. My back thanks me, too. I no longer have to dread this chore…I actually enjoy it now. And what’s even better is my 7 year old has offered to help and it won’t strain him to use it. Double win for me!

Another awesome plus to this vacuum is that it is cordless, so you don’t have to worry about plugging and unplugging just to move around the room. The charge lasts for 24 minutes and I am able to do all of my hard floors in that time. The attachments are so easy to switch out and they have a spot on the docking station where you can easily store them. Superb!

I know a lot of people look at the price and say it’s too much, but it really isn’t if you want to invest in a high quality vacuum that does the job exceptionally well without it being laborious. Just keep an eye out for sales at local stores.

The vacuum comes with 3 attachments and a docking station for charging. Here is the overview from their website:

The DC59 Motorhead cordless vacuum cleaner is powered by the Dyson digital motor V6. This 350W motor, 2 Tier Radial cyclones and a re-engineered nickel manganese cobalt battery combine to provide powerful suction. The latest motorized head with a direct drive motor located inside the brush bar drives into carpet pile to remove ground-in dirt. Together these technologies enable the Dyson DC59 Motorhead to out-clean most full-size vacuums across carpet and hard floors.
