This is one of my favorite breakfast ideas ever. My daughter is also a fan. I have to give full credit to my husband who makes the most amazing Toad-In-The-Hole sandwich, ever.
Here’s how it’s done:
Lightly toast your bread in the toaster. This will keep it firm enough to cut out the hole without tearing the bread.
Use a cup to cut a circular hole in your bread. Take the cup, place the mouth onto the bread and make sure it stays between the crusts. Twist in a circular motion.
Butter the toast and toss into a frying pan on medium heat.
Crack an egg into the hole. I usually cook the “hole” as well, great for dipping into the yolk.
When egg is done to your liking, its through, unless you like it hard cooked, and you can flip it over and cook the other side as well.
Add some sliced avocado to the top, and some hot sauce. It sure is tasty this way.
Put on a plate and enjoy!
