Have you ever made flatbread before? Did you make it the super hard way? What if I told you an easy way to make flatbread in less than 3 minutes? This recipe is easy, quick and great for nights when you don’t have much time between work and your kid’s baseball game!
You will need Pillsbury Pizza Crust (thin crust). Who would have thought, right? Here’s how:
1 can of this Pizza Dough will make 5-6 flatbreads, depending on how big you want them. Divide the dough into 5-6 pieces and roll out in a rectangle. Make sure to get it as thin as possible as it puffs up while cooking.
Heat 2 tbsp of vegetable oil in a large pan and fry the dough 1 minute (or less) on each side. Until golden brown.
Pat with paper towels and set aside to cool.
What you do with these flatbreads are all up to you. Cook up some hamburger meat, add some taco seasoning and shredded cheese and have Taco Flatbread Melts. Mix some sloppy joe sauce with the meat and have sloppy joe flatbreads. See what I mean? The possibilities are endless. You could probably even put some apple pie filling in the middle, oh man, that would be awesome.
I made taco meat (vegetarian style for my husband), cooked up some bell pepper & onion, added it to the flatbread and sprinkled it with cheddar cheese.
and of course, you know me, it didn’t take me but 2 seconds to collect the seeds out of the bell pepper to begin the drying process for planting. Instructions on that here: Growing Bell Peppers
If you try this out, let us know what you put in your flatbreads!
