Our Slammer is a no-holds-barred, muscular Syrah that keeps fruity ripeness in check. Full-bodied with sweet dark berry flavors, a touch of chocolate, and a lingering finish. Our Slammer Syrah is well-balanced with a rounded mouthfeel that makes it enjoyable now or through years of sentencing.
This is actually the first time I have tried a Syrah so I don’t have much to compare it to. I really enjoyed their Pinot Grigio. If you missed that review, click HERE.
Big House Wines Syrah, also known as “The Slammer Syrah” is a full bodied wine. I got hints of blackberry and cocoa. I wasn’t as impressed with their Syrah as I had hoped. It could be because I am just not a big Syrah fan- I don’t know as I haven’t tried any before this, but this was a drinkable wine. It wasn’t over powering with flavor, but it wasn’t lacking any either. I also drank the whole bottle without sharing, if that says anything.
If I were to recommend a food pairing, I would have to say try it with a yummy burger. Or you can pair it with one of Big House Wines recommendation: Pairings-in-crime includes sundry roast meats, garlicky leg of lamb, and wild game.
Overall, it was a pretty decent wine. If you are a Syrah fan I would definitely recommend trying it. The bottle runs for only $10.00, which makes it the perfect wine to invest in to try. I am actually going to be purchasing another bottle and storing it for a couple of years, it may bring out some of the richer flavors of this wine and be more enjoyable.
You are in for a treat when visiting their website. I could spend hours on it, so please visit them to learn more about their wines at:

Last week I also shared with you the adorable wine cap from The Birdman’s Pinot Grigio. Here is the one from The Slammer Syrah. I absolutely LOVE them!
“so good, they’re almost criminal.”
